We’re devoting much of this issue to the archive of a director who deserves wider recognition.

Christopher Barry was always one of my favourite interviewees. He and his wife Venice lived in Oxfordshire, in a beautiful house that was down the road from the famous Hook Norton brewery. I’ve got happy memories of sipping beer in their beautiful garden while Christopher and I discussed his career at Ealing Studios and the BBC.
