B esides Doctor Who, Jim worked on included The Chronicles a huge range of BBC shows, as both a digital and traditional painter.
Frustrations included creating a huge gauze backdrop of No Man’s Land for the memorable closing scene of Blackadder Goes Forth (1989), only to find it was barely visible in the final edit. Highlights of Narnia (1988-90), for which Jim did everything from drawing storyboards, through painting digital matte shots and physical murals, to dangling from the side of the real Dawn Treader ship to paint it with dragon scales.
