The costumes for the Fifteenth Doctor and his companion, Ruby Sunday, were revealed on 17 December. What did you think of them?

THE FUTURE’S ORANGE

► ERNEST VILLARREAL TEXAS In 2010, the Doctor raided a hospital wardrobe while assembling his new look. In 2018, she then raided a charity shop. Now, in 2023, it looks like the Doctor will raid the racks of H&M! After 60 years and so many incarnations, Ncuti Gatwa’s outfit still manages to be slightly eccentric yet totally unique. Orange is a colour that we really haven’t seen much of from the Doctor, and I have no doubt in my mind that the utterly vibrant hue of Gatwa’s jumper will look utterly resplendent next to the TARDIS. What a sight to behold!

► MARTIN TAYLOR SWINDON The Fifteenth Doctor costume? Yeah, all good! Maybe could have done with some red braces! But it’s a very familiar silhouette (smart/sensible/ trendy) for an unfamiliar Doctor. It’s nice to see Ncuti Gatwa obviously feeling comfortable in the costume, in the video he posted online.
