“There’s
this assumption that the
Short
Trips,
because of the
title, have to be ‘tiny’ stories,” says Max Kashevsky, one of the writers contributing to the 12th volume of the long-running anthology series.
“And there can be lots of brilliant things with that. A story about the Doctor having tea could be the grandest, most emotional thing in the world. But I also think you can tell quite big, sprawling, expansive stories. Prose really helps with that. You can layer in all these wild, weird images, and give the story a sense of scope. Which especially appeals when you’re doing a Time War story.
