I t was in the interests of BBC Television Enterprises that manufacturers designed products that were consistent across a brand. Walter Tuckwell & Associates offered help to Doctor Who licensees in the form of a document that would nowadays be called a ‘style guide’. Although not as detailed or colourful as the ‘character merchandise specification sheets’ AP Films had previously created for shows such as Fireball XL5 and Stingray, the Doctor Who guide provided sufficient information for the uninitiated to avoid basic errors.
