His famous father didn’t approve of Doctor Who, but Jamie Anderson has forged a new career as a writer and director at Big Finish.

Two of the stories that Jamie has recently directed for Big Finish.

The January 2016 release of the Fifth Doctor adventure The Waters of Amsterdam introduced the latest recruit to the Big Finish Doctor Who audio dramas. Since then, Jamie Anderson has directed seven more of the year’s monthly releases, including The Peterloo Massacre and the acclaimed Two Masters trilogy.

Yet to fans of such television classics as Stingray, Thunderbirds, UFO and Space:1999, Jamie is also known as the head of Anderson Entertainment, the production company established by his late father, legendary producer Gerry Anderson.

Despite growing up surrounded by the trappings of Marineville, Tracy Island and Moonbase Alpha, Jamie developed an interest in Doctor Who at an early age. He even appeared alongside his father in 30 Years in the TARDIS, the 30th anniversary BBC documentary broadcast in November 1993.

About Doctor Who Magazine

On the 50th anniversary of The Power of the Daleks, Doctor Who looked back as well as forwards. While an animated reconstruction of the Second Doctor’s début was being prepared, work began on new episodes to be broadcast in 2017. Inside this issue, you’ll find exclusive interviews with some of the people behind the next series and the recent spin-off Class, the story behind the acclaimed exhibition of Target Books artwork and a ringside seat at the Power of the Daleks launch event. This is the essential guide to the worlds of Doctor Who.
