INTERVIEW BY STEVE O’BRIEN
The Herefordshire town of Bromyard (population: 4,500) isn’t an obvious location for one of the UK’s most flabbergasting collections of Doctor Who memorabilia – and, indeed, science-fiction memorabilia in general. Located 14 miles from Worcester, it’s your traditional, postcard-perfect English market town. Yet nestling between its cosy tea shops and its olde-worlde, Sky TV-free pubs is the Time Machine Museum of Science Fiction, a 13-year pet project of 55-year-old sci-fi nut Andy Glazzard.
“Visitors often remark how quaint Bromyard is, but I wouldn’t want the collection anywhere else,” Andy points out. “I can live here at the museum and look after it properly that way. I couldn’t do that in a large town or city.”
