D irector Ed Bazalgette was responsible for one of the most creative set-ups of the decade when he oversaw the 360-degree shot circling Ashildr that appears at the end of The Girl Who Died (2015). Representing Ashildr’s future immortality, actress Maisie Williams was set against a green screen, later replaced with a timelapsed visual effects shot of the changing landscape. Williams’ expression shifted from wonderment to fear in a single camera pass.
