Issue 243 - How much do you think you could raise selling donated doll’s houses, roomboxes, and handfuls of unwanted miniatures? A thousand pounds? Five thousand pounds? Not even close. Pat Cutforth and her merry band of volunteers are setting their sights on an incredible quarter of a million pounds. Their recent sale in a barn at Pat’s house already took the figure raised for Cancer Research UK to more than £200,000. And now they want to reach that landmark target.

Admittedly it’s taken them many, many years. And a lot of dedicated effort. The fund-raising dates back to the days when Pat ran the Marlborough Fair (now that was a wonderful event in the local Town Hall of the beautiful Wiltshire market town, and I always loved going there). It is an incredible achievement by Pat her team and the rest of the mini world with miniaturists and makers donating and buying.
