A RECENT diabetes event featuring medical experts and government officials highlighted the need for greater education and community engagement to combat the disease, which affects British Asians disproportionately.
The panel of experts gathered for the event, held last Thursday (23) in Manchester, noted British Asians are up to six times more likely to contract diabetes than the general population.
