When were you most starstruck?
I get starstruck by Michelin-starred chefs. I went to [fancy Copenhagen restaurant] Noma once and met René Redzepi — Iwas like a fucking idiot, couldn’t even form a sentence. But in terms of films, it was when Simon [Pegg] and me were making Tintin with Steven Spielberg. Close Encounters is the film I’ve seen most in my life — Iprobably watch it ten times a year. One day on set, I came out of my trailer and heard Steven say, “Hey, Nick, have you ever met Clint Eastwood?” And there’s Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg, sitting there, smoking cigars. That was really like: “What the fuck is going on?” I didn’t stick around. I had my motion-capture suit on. Clint probably thought I was Clyde [the orangutan from Every Which Way But Loose].
Do you have an irrational fear?
