The drum and bass duo who’ve worked with Ellie Goulding and Take That keep the guests underground on their third album. Sampling Bitter Sweet Symphony and Tom’s Diner, they sometimes try too hard to be cinematic, with the title track seemingly designed to soundtrack a Sky Max gangster drama. It’s when they keep the beats simple and punishing, like the hard-hitting Badman and LSD, that the pair best honour their adopted home. More than a decade in, Sigma can still light up a dancefloor – albeit they sometimes need reminding that it’s their primary purpose.
