It is true that the more gleeful (or perhaps vengeful) Brexiters think that when the UK withdraws from the EU in general and the Single Market in particular, that it will be like the load bearing column from a building being suddenly removed making the whole edifice collapse, as the UK calmly walks away into a golden sunset (but with occasional showers).
