The moment when Link steps into the Dark World into an alternative version of Hyrule remains a classic videogame twist. It’s the icing on a delicious slice of adventure cake, which greatly expanded upon the original Zelda’s brilliance to make the most of the SNES’ capabilities. Bosses are bigger and more imaginative, weapons are integrated exceptionally well into the game’s devious dungeons, while the soundtrack is truly sublime.
