THE ORIGIN OF THE NATIVITY
The word “nativity” means “relating to birth.” The Christmas nativity is that of Jesus, born in a miraculous manner to a virgin named Mary. Jesus’ birth wasn’t celebrated until about three centuries later. “In 354, Pope Liberius set the date as December twenty-fourth to the twenty-fifth,” Foufelle writes.
