American Miniaturist  |  Issue 214
Seems like the days are slipping by so fast this year! It’s already my birthday month. There is no question what I want for my birthday this year...the same thing I want every year, minis!
I have been in a new relationship since last September and it has been interesting inviting him into my miniature world. As it turns out he is a certified electrician and the first thing he did was fix the lights in my Rik Pierce dollhouse. I don’t know if there was any faster way into my heart than that!
But wait, there’s more. Then he bought me mini power tools including a fast heating solder iron for Christmas and showed me how to rewire my elf tree house to clean up all the wires in the back! Who is this guy? Well, he owns the auto shop I have been going to for the past 10 years. He is a mechanic by trade and is determined to make a working miniature ceiling fan for my timber cabin. Miniatures are very addictive!
Getting these new tools has opened up a world of possibilities for my building techniques. If there is something you have been debating purchasing that would help you to build, I strongly recommend you get it. The future-you will be overjoyed and become even more innovative than you already are. If a tool or a certain material piques your interest in this issue, treat yourself and experiment. You may get even more inspired to create than you already are.
