OUT OF BOUNDS
Does an out-of-bounds area on a fishery help the fishing, or is it a conflict point between angler and owner? There are plenty of venues where a specific area isn’t open to fishing, from a sanctuary or nature reserve to the more straightforward roped off bay or corner. Do they really help sport by giving carp somewhere to get away from anglers? In principle I like the idea that carp have somewhere where they can have the equivalent of a bit of quality ‘fish time’ without any stress or worry and having things bunged at them all the time. But in practise, ‘no fishing’ areas can be quite counterproductive.
