Following the glass and British ceramics auction, which takes place in Bonhams’ Knightsbridge rooms this week, the auction house holds its main European ceramics sale of the summer in New Bond Street on June 14. This will feature the usual broad selection of pieces from factories across continental Europe.
Among the French highlights is a pair of late 1770s Sèvres hard paste porcelain vases painted with chinoiserie sea battles and insects that were formerly part of the collections of the Earls Spencer at Althorp, estimated at £70,000-90,000.
