Vigo Gallery will feature an exhibition of the works by Dutch-born Belgian artist Bram Bogart (1921-2012), far right, at Frieze Masters (October 5-8) and at its gallery at Dering Street, London (October 11-November 11).
Bogart executed his oil paintings with thick impasto. Among the highlight works in the shows is Lousy Jane (pictured right). It was painted in 1960, the last year Bogart was able to use stretched canvas before the paint became too heavy and required reinforced wooden supports. Spanning six decades of his career, the show includes some of his earliest pieces from the 1950s but predominantly features those from the early 60s, ranging in price from £30,000 to £350,000.
The gallery represents emerging and established international artists and has a particular interest in historically significant yet undervalued artists.
