The 12th edition of the International Antiques Fair takes place in Hong Kong this month at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It runs from May 24-28, coinciding with the main spring auction series held by Christie’s.
More than 70 international exhibitors will take part in the fair, which was founded by Chak’s Investment, and it features special exhibitions (devoted to Chinese antique glassware from the PT collection and Mingei and the Essence of Japanese art) as well as lectures and appraisals. Brandt Asian Art from London is taking this pair of gilt bronze mounted mother-of-pearl boxes, above, to the fair. The boxes, which measure 4½in (11.5cm) in height and date to the Qianlong period, are priced at £36,000.
