COMPETITORS came from near and far to take part in Tarbert Gun Club’s annual charity shoot. Locally known as ‘Archie’s Shoot’, last Sunday’s event attracted guns from Newton Stewart, Oban and Jura as well as a large local contingent, with all proceeds going to the MS Centre in Lochgilphead.
Ideal shooting
Good weather made for ideal shooting conditions, and visiting shooters were recording some very high scores. The locals were just about holding their own, though, John Weir losing just two targets which was enough to cost him a top finish. Brian Baird and Bob McColl were going well, before Brian unfortunately dropped his second last target - leaving Bob to finish top of the pile.
