EVOKING the spirit of Para Handy, the crew onboard the Vic 32 were calling on seafaring visitors to swap land for sea last weekend.
The restored 1940s puffer moored up alongside Crinan pier over the weekend where skipper Nick Walker and his trusty crew took people on trips around Crinan Bay. The trips were free and the crew allowed access into the wheelhouse to get a real flavour of life on board one of these charismatic working steam vessels.
The Puffer Preservation Trust, the organisation tasked with conserving the Vic 32, provided these hourlong excursions to raise awareness of the need to preserve this historic vessel.
