PEOPLE across Argyll and Bute are being urged to make sure they are registered to vote ahead of the council elections. The vote will take place on May 4 and the council is hoping for a bigger turnout this year than in previous elections.

Particular emphasis is being put on 16- and 17-year-olds, who will be eligible to vote. To take part in the elections, voters must be registered by the end of Monday April 17.

If you are not already registered to vote, you can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
