ARDRISHAIG Pier has been serving the people of Argyll since Victorian times.
The pier’s most recent incarnation has seen it used as one of a number of ports to transport timber felled from the Argyll hills by sea. It is operated by Scottish Canals, a public body, largely as an industrial site.
After the recent pier collapse, Scottish Canals is looking at all the options available for the pier. This might be an ideal opportunity to broaden the pier’s appeal beyond the purely industrial and tie it better to the village.
