Passion for Gaelic
THE Deputy First Minister of Scotland, John Swinney, MSP, came to deliver the Angus Macleod memorial lecture on October 19 in Stornoway, during Mòd week.
Mr Swinney, who is also Scotland’s education secretary, spoke of the importance of the Gaelic language, its his tory and tradition in a room full of people. He stressed several times that the Gaelic language belongs to Scotland and that the Scottish Government will continue to support the growth in usage of Gaelic.
