RUBBISH was left strewn across land at Tarbert Castle in the wake of last week’s Tarbert Fair, to the anger and disappointment of volunteers.
A group of young people who gathered in the area on Saturday night is believed to have been responsible for this and other damage – but Tarbert’s youth should not be tainted by incidents like this, according to some.
Writing on page six of this week’s Advertiser, Tarbert Castle Trust secretary Robert McPhail says: ‘On the Monday morning after Tarbert Fair, volunteers at Tarbert Castle had to collect and remove four large bin bags of bottles, cans and six pack boxes.’
