VOLUNTEERS were preparing the castle and community woodland for a busy summer.
Weeds on the monument site were cleared, turfing has been repaired on the stone wall to protect the ruins and timber steps maintained.
The woodland pond dam was repaired, path verges strimmed and the woodland sculptures painted to keep them in good condition as they are proving very popular with visitors having a picnic in the area.
