CARE in the community is not just for the elderly; services are available to help people who need support because of illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction.
The Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 was passed by the Scottish Parliament so people who are eligible for social care support can get greater choice and control over how they receive these services. This means care services can be ‘personalised’ for individual needs and wishes.
