He might have a fresh outlook, but changing what seems to be some entrenched mindsets among civil servants might be a challenge for Mr Yousaf.
After choosing the cheapest option to tackle the landslide problem at the Rest, they have carried on regardless of the views of the people of Argyll. Investing in a long-term engineering solution would surely save taxpayers’ cash over time, rather than throwing good money after bad on mitigation.
