Stewart Lambie MBE: June 9 1932 to April 16 2018

Stewart Lambie was born in Lamlash on June 9, 1932.

He was the only son of James and Janet and he had two older sisters, Catriona and Nanna. His early years were spent at the South End, firstly at Leccamore and then at High Cloined but these remote farms provided a poor living and when Stewart was three years old the family moved to West Glensherraig when his father got the tenancy.

Stewart attended Brodick School and was then in the first intake at Lamlash Junior Secondary School when it opened in 1946. With a mischievous sense of fun, he and his pals were involved in a number of pranks, both in and out of school.
