Scotland’s second oldest dog trials, the Dougarie Sheep Dog Trials, has once again taken place on Arran, keeping alive a tradition that dates back all the way to 1889.
Not having taken place over the last few years owing to severe weather and the death of a Dougarie trial stalwart, Willie McConnell, the competition once again took place on Friday August 24 with eight entries.
Alistair and Alison Currie generously provided the field at Birchburn Farm in Shiskine and Hugh Stewart provided the sheep while Neil Henderson judged the competition.
