The launch date for MV Glen Sannox has been set for Tuesday November 21 at the launching berth at Port Glasgow where she is being built by Ferguson Marine Engineering Ltd, according to reports.
Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL), who commissioned the new 100-metre Arran ferry are hoping that Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, will attend the ceremony. An announcement is expected next week. CMAL originally anticipated an earlier launch date, however this later date is said to now allow for a further fitting out period and fits in with the tides which are required for a boat launch which is expected to be open to the public.
MV Glen Sannox is owned by CMAL on behalf of the Scottish Government, and will be operated by CalMac Ferries Ltd.
