Old enemies set for cup final clash

Lamlash win penalty shoot-out as Brodick brush aside Northend

Brodick and Lamlash will face each other in the final of the Arran Haulage Cup today (Saturday) after the two teams cemented their places during the week with victories in the semi-final rounds.

The final will be played at Lamlash in a reciprocal agreement as the Cooperwheats Cup final last year was played between the two teams at Brodick’s pitch. Kick-off is at 3pm. Supporters are encouraged to attend the final game, which is guaranteed to be a hard-fought encounter between these two old enemies.

Lamlash won 3-2 on penalties Southend have dominated the Arran Haulage Cup in recent years, having won it eight out of the past 10 years. However, Lamlash were hoping to spoil their run and get off to a flying start in the new season.
