Arran residents might notice an increase in the number of military ships and aircraft around the island as the bi-annual Joint Warrior exercise takes place across Scotland this month.
The UK-led training event, which started last week and continues until Friday October 21, will see various exercises taking place off the Scottish coast and airbases including Prestwick, RAF Lossiemouth and on military ranges and seas around the country, including the Firth of Clyde.
Close to 6,000 military personnel and 15 different countries will be involved in the training which will see 31 warships and submarines as well as almost 60 aircraft from countries including the USA, Germany, France and Norway taking part.
