Learning about recreating a valley of wooded wilderness

At a meeting of Arran Natural History Society on October 6, John Savory gave an illustrated presentation on The Carrifran Wildwood Project.

John is a zoology graduate of Aberdeen University. He did his PhD research at Banchory into feeding ecology of red grouse and then had a long career as a poultry scientist researching aspects of their behaviour, welfare and physiology. But his first love was always ecology and in his retirement he feels fortunate to be involved in this Borders Forest Trust’s project.
