Quality professional musicians have been a winning ingredient at the Pierhead Tavern in Lamlash and its varied programme to suit all tastes continues all year.
Saturday nights are always a blast with a fabulous lineup of artists covering pop, post-punk and rock plus an opportunity to dress up for glam rock. The most loved friends, the George Lindsay Blues Band, continue to amaze the crowds with slick guitar work and tight sounds, plus April also brings two tribute bands to The PHT – T-Rex and The Jam.
Sunday afternoons are more mellow and once a month they celebrate the expertise of young musicians, this month welcoming the Nescio ensemble from Holland, who will be playing alongside the fabulous flddle players from Arran.
The PHT is also delighted to welcome Katee Kross, a young singer/songwriter who has already played at Wembley Stadium, and a fabulous treat from Mambo Jambo, with unique sounding world music. Full listings can be found on the pub website www.thepht.co.uk.
Alongside the Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons, the venue also encourages singing and playing at other times and has instruments on hand to borrow. On Friday evenings, the PHT sets up an open mic and has a karaoke screen. All evening music starts after dinner service.
