During the last weekend in September on Islay you’ll hear the waves on the shore, the wind in the trees and the rustle of pages being turned at the island’s annual book festival.
This is one of the first of the literary events launched in the area and its reputation and ability to attract a wide range of authors continues to grow each year.
This year participants will include Bernard MacLaverty, Ian Stephen, Brian Johnstone, Janis MacKay, Chrys Salt, Lin Anderson and Les Wilson and many more.
The programme has a good blend of fiction, maritime tales, local history, crime fiction, poetry, contemporary work plus workshops and children’s story times.
