The Arran rescue services are having a busy summer, with the Arran Mountain Rescue Team attending a high number of call outs already this year, while HM Coastguard reported June as being their busiest month of the year so far. Its operation centre, based in Belfast, recorded 16 call outs during the month.

The Arran RNLI has also attended a large number of incidents already this season, the most recent being last Sunday when, along with the coastguard, they attended an incident on the path between Kings Cave and Blackwaterfoot.
