An Ayr man who goes on long-distance walks for charity is training for his next event with a four-day walk around Arran.

Diagnosed with spinocerebellar ataxia in 2015, a very rare genetic condition which affects communication between brain and body, Iain McGeachin will circumnavigate Arran with two of his friends. Karen Servadei and Graham Fryatt from Kent, who have already climbed Kiliman jaro with Graham’s son, also named Iain, who suffers from Friedreich’s ataxia.
