Farm fun for Arran youngsters

The National Trust for Scotland’s Young Naturalist Club ventured out of Brodick Country Park to visit June and Mike Taylor on their farm.

Club members sit on straw bales at the farm.

The group were introduced to June’s white bred shorthorn cattle, including George a newly born calf. After giving the cows a good comb, the kids got to work feeding the hens and ducks, collecting eggs and strawing down the nest boxes. It wasn’t all hard work though as the group got a well deserved rest on hay bales, then retired to June’s kitchen for juice and biscuits.
