I thought you and your readers might be interested in the picture below from earlier this month. Graham and Barbara Tinto, former Arran GPs now living in Perthshire, were delighted to be in attendance with Mark, now 25, and others from an adults with support needs group at Holyrood for his Duke of Edinburgh gold award presentation, having completed his bronze and silver sections while at Arran High School (AHS) with Ms Hogg and Ms Manson.
Of extra Arran interest, HRH Prince Edward was escorted throughout the proceedings by Barry Fisher, former pupil of AHS and son of Angie Fisher, Whiting Bay, erstwhile primary head teacher on the island. As many will be aware, Barry is director of Duke of Edinburgh Award Scotland.
