The Isle of Arran Rotary Club has had an interesting few weeks, writes
On Tuesday April 26, the club members had an interesting talk from Alison Tait. Alison has a background in exporting and office management and had been the chief executive of the Robert Burns World Federation from 2011 to 2015. She is now the chief executive of Break the Silence, an Ayrshire charity which supports adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and rape.
She gave an interesting account of her time with the Robert Burns World Federation and then introduced us to Break the Silence and the support and therapies that are available for this vulnerable group. Many people throughout Ayrshire have found the charity a place to deal with the issues they have and, for many, it is the first time they have had support and help.
