Reliability is key

I am always pleased for my contribution to any debate to be referred to in later correspondence, whether it is a critical or complimentary response. Any such comment or reply at least indicates some wider interest in the topic.

With that in mind, I was interested to read the recent, albeit rather confused, contribution from Colin Turbett to your letters page re garding the Ardrossan v Troon debate, in which for some reason I alone was singled out for a mention despite others voicing similar if not identical views.

The debate is exactly about a very specific issue i.e. the most reliable mainland port for the Arran ferry service. Over many years the most consistent word used in this regard by Arran residents in letters, opinion at public meetings and comments to The Banner and elsewhere has been the need for reliability!
