Arran is a love island – and we don’t mean the ITV2 show which has been getting some unwanted press.
No, the island, which has long been a top wedding destination, has had newlyweds at the top of Goatfell embracing at the anvil of love.
And last weekend the love took on a European hue, when a Belgian attending the White Stag dinner at the distillery made a marriage proposal to a woman he met two years earlier at the same event. The couple plan to marry next year. The love island’s influence does not end there, for a Cana dian couple, who had just received a blessing, turned up at Arran Heritage Museum craft fair after they heard the skirl of the pipes from the Arran Pipe Band.
