How did you come to set up Above The Stag Theatre?

We were an itinerant company putting on LGBT+ plays in various venues around London, when we became aware of a disused function room above The Stag pub, in Victoria. Within three months, we had fitted it out as a theatre and started producing full time. The pub was demolished three years ago so we moved into a railway arch in Vauxhall, put a theatre and bar in, upped the production values and have more than quadrupled our audience numbers. We have also attracted stars such as Erasure’s Andy Bell to perform.
