{ Q & A }
You were kicked out at the age of 14 after you came out. What happened immediately after that?
When I first came out, my parents made me sleep in the tool shed behind the house while my stepfather and mother decided what to do with me. That lasted a couple days before I was told to go. I collected all my clothes and my belongings in a trash bag. It only filled up about half of one. Afterwards, I had to go and stay with my dad, who I hadn’t seen in a few years, as my mom had kicked him out about three years before. When I got there, the first thing I saw was a big Confederate flag on the wall. I remember being really scared.
