Australian Country  |  27.5
Our travels begin in Strathalbyn, the gateway town to South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula where Sally and Rory McGregor have made their home. Then we travel to Geelong in Victoria where author Fiona Lowe lives and works. We chat about her writing career and latest novel, The Accident, her passions for cycling, baking and entering her cakes in country shows. We also head to Rylstone in the NSW Central West, where the Evans family has created not one, but two amazing gardens on their farm, and up to the NSW MidNorth, where the residents of Wherrol Flat and Caparra create an annual roadside scarecrow trail for the amusement of passers-by and as part of an October long weekend fair that raises funds for the local hall. Our travel feature takes us to the truly stunning Yarra Valley in Victoria, just over a hour’s drive from Melbourne’s CBD. The issue is also packed with design and decorating inspiration.
