Special 40 page issue commemorating the centenary of the first ANZAC Day at Hornsby Railway Station in Sydney and the opening of the first section of Sydney's Metropolitan Goods Lines. The first event, on 25 April 1916, involved the simultaneous raising of the New Zealand flag at Hornsby Station and the Australian flag at Petone Workshops in Wellington.
Part 1 of Neville Pollard's article 'City meets Country' covers the planning and early operation of the Metro Goods Lines, including the improved technologies associated with them.
The issue also includes article on the Flowerdale Junction to Maweena branch line in Tasmania and the railways that served the river ports of South Australia.
