Australian Triathlete  |  Australian Triathlete 24.10

Without fail we get to this time of year and start planning our pre and post Kona editions and shake our heads as to where the year has gone - this year was no exception. As plenty in the world of triathlon are tipping the three-peat on both sides as a fait accompli – it’s hard not too - we are particularly excited to watch the race within the race this year like never before. No one can deny the champs, Jan ‘Frodo’ Frodeno and Daniela ‘Angry Bird’ Ryf are the overwhelming favourites, but it is the battle for the podium perhaps behind them that should be fierce. With so many of the world’s biggest names in women's long course racing out of this year's event having just had or expecting, babies, it opens the field right up and gives a number of athletes their biggest opportunity to stand on the dias. One such athlete and one we cannot wait to watch is our cover star, Sarah Crowley. As Triathlon’s data man, Thorsten Radde sums up in his Kona preview from page eight - Sarah went relatively unnoticed last year. But with two Ironman Regional Championship titles to her name this year, we think the world won't be able to ignore our Aussie star this year – at least that is what we’re hoping for! Also in the mag this month – Jodie Cunnama chats to rising superstar, Flora Duffy who, it seems, was born to race. Megan Evoe sits down with new mum and one of the most successful long course triathletes, Rachel Joyce about her comeback to Pro racing, her road to Kona and more. Deputy Ed. Margy Margs gets the lowdown on all things Portsea, just in time for the new Victorian Tri Series Swimrun event. Tech Talk is packed as always from the latest and greatest products to hit the shelves in this month's Tri Products; we put the new Orca SwimRun range under the Product Spotlight, The Test Lab road tests the new Wahoo Kickr and show you how to convert your bike to 1x. It's another jam-packed edition, bursting at the seams – you don't want to miss out!
