Autism Wins
By Samuel Alves Gomez
A teenage author offers his unique perspective on autism.
Sam isn’t your regular autistic teenager. He’s an all-A’s college student, entrepreneur, influencer, author, and activist. What does he have to prove? That autism isn’t a disease, nor is it perfect. Autism is a different type of mind. One that has the potential to expose the shortcomings of anything, from silly social norms to corrupt institutions, yet can only do so in an ideal environment. Modern society wasn’t made for autistic people. It’s like being a polar bear in the Amazon Jungle. It’s not that we’re better or worse than anyone; we’re just built different.
